Passion Flowers 9_2013Just a few hours until it is October. I think, for me, September was the fastest month on record! It is a trend I hope does not continue, though I have my doubts. Actually, we had a couple weeks off from touring, and it gave me a chance to make some headway with all that has piled up over the Summer. I was able to bring a small bit of order to my garden and yard, while enjoying the fruits of all the Spring work I did: raspberries, tomatoes, broccoli and brussel sprouts, onions, kale..blue potatoes :-)…and bitter sweet and Chinese lanterns, which have always been favorites of mine.

Getting ready for the first frost here in Ann Arbor, though Michael 30 miles west in Grass Lake has had to scrape his windshield in the morning a couple of times! I have a two cold frames now, with spinach, radishes, lettuce, carrots: exciting to see how long I can have fresh vegetables and how early I can get them in the Spring!

But…October. A jam packed whirlwind of touring for us. Very exciting: a trip to northern WI and the UP…hoping for a rave of Fall colors. Our first trip south in a LONG time..with a show in Kentucky, and out first shows ever in Georgia and South Carolina!…Pittsburgh, a favorite..then Connecticut and the Sounding Board at the end of the month where we had a truly amazing show last year….. and a long awaited house concert in Franklin, MA… and next weekend..Saturday..Freedom Farm in Ohio…our 2nd time to this cool and funky venue in a barn that is…art….it just is……. and…opening for Peter Yarrow next Sunday in West Bloomfield, MI..really, get your tickets ASAP!!

I think I say this every time, but, thank you, for giving us this opportunity to take our music out into the world…and to you!! It is a privilege and a joy…and we look forward to catching up with many of you.

A special note about November…only 2 shows: The Ten Pound Fiddle in East Lansing, MI with our friends Lady of the Lake. Many of you know Karrie Potter, who is a member of Lady of the Lake, for her wonderful contributions to our MR 7 recording and on our newest, A Good Place To Be. We’ll be doing some songs with her and her bandmates Wanda and Pooh. That is Friday Nov. 8th.

On Saturday Nov. 9 we will be at Trinity House in Livonia, Filmmaker Mike Allore will again have his students in to film what hopefully will be the last shoot before we release our DVD. In truth, we have too much material 🙂 but want to try and get some special songs. Hope you can make this show!

And..New Year’s Eve…again, The Yellow Room Gang will be doing a concert in Flint, MI for the Flint Folk Music Society. It has been over the top fun in the past, and I expect nothing less this year. NOTE** the show is at 7 PM! So time to do more later….they have a great jam session after our show …or … you can just get home early!

The new CD has been getting great response from people..thank you! We think it is pretty good ourselves! 🙂 Wishing you a great Fall!
